The Internet is the great communications
network. Who can live today without being connected? The big gateway to this
universe of data, people and business is the router. When we contract the
Internet connection, the operator gives us a free router already configured.
The problem is that this default configuration is not usually the most
appropriate. Or sometimes we need to change the name or password of our Wi-Fi
network, or maybe open or close certain ports to connect peripherals to the
Internet.
The access to the router is carried out
through its IP address, which always sounds 192.168.1.1 or tplinkwifi.net 192.168.0.1. From a browser you access that IP
address and enter the configuration. We will show you, in simple words, how to
enter the router, how to locate and change your access password, how to change
the name and password of the Wi-Fi network, as well as some basic operations,
such as updating the firmware or opening and closing ports.
How to access the router
Most Internet providers offer their
customers a program, web or app to enter the router. There is a manual way to
do it that is more or less the same for all routers: through the browser, using
your IP address.

To connect to the Internet and connect all
the devices (PC, smartphones, consoles, tablets, etc), the router assigns a
local IP address to each device, starting with 192.168. He himself stays with
the first: 192.168.1.1 or tplinkwifi.net
192.168.0.1. Other devices connected to the network have addresses of type
192.168.1.104, 192.168.1.102, etc.
To enter the router, launch a browser. In
the field where you normally write the name of the web you want to visit,
write: http://192.168.1.1 It is possible that a message appears indicating that
you use a certain browser. Pay attention to him. If nothing happens, then try
http://192.168.0.1.
The entry door to the router will be
displayed on the screen, and it will ask for your username and password.
